It doesn’t undo the character development he undergoes in the main books but shows how far he’s come. Brief Thoughts: I had to remind myself that this story is a glimpse into Thorne’s past.Summary: Saving up for a Rampion cargo ship, thirteen-year-old Carswell Thorne schemes his classmates out of money.The fact that he eventually undergoes the surgery he desperately wanted to avoid makes this story even sadder. It perfectly demonstrates the lengths which Wolf would have gone to survive Levanna’s corrupt reign. Brief Thoughts: Though I’ve read this story before, it still managed to grip my emotions.Summary: Ze’ev Kelsey is chosen to become one of Queen Levana’s prized soldiers.Adri mostly prevented my enjoyment since I tried to sympathize with her, but couldn’t because of her blind prejudice. Brief Thoughts: I was a bit underwhelmed with this story until the last couple of pages.Summary: Cinder moves in with her new family.This story let me connect to the character in a way I couldn’t in Scarlet.
